    Prayers Please December 24th, 2007

I was celebrating Christmas with my dad and got the call from my mom that the fire department had been called to my new house.  Needless to say, I don’t have a home any more.  I don’t have anything.  Merry Christmas to us.

Please keep up in your prayers.  My home was where my business was housed.

    Blessings,

    Dorene

    Looking Ahead…..a writing prompt December 20th, 2007

No one likes to think about their own mortality.  Planning your own funeral ahead seems to be the trend these days.  My uncle and aunt have bought their burialplot and already have their headstone their and their funerals paid for so their children don’t have that task when they are grieving.  Things like term life insurance and prepaid burial plans are commonplace.

So here is your prompt.  If you could plan ahead and write your own obituary, what would you like it to say about you?  What would your headstone say?

Some may find it a bit morbid, but when I did this exercise I really learned a lot about how I wanted others to percieve me and accomplishments I haven’t made yet that I want my grandchildren and great grandchildren to be proud of me for.

    Writing Prompt…….Dream Bedroom December 1st, 2007

Many people consider their bedroom their personal get-away spot, an oasis from everyday troubles.  I think it’s a good idea.  My own bedroom not only serves as my bedroom, but my art studio, also.  You can only imagine how chaotic it is, but I love to shut my door and work, read, and relax.  My dream room would be very sparce, with only the necessities.  I love clean lines and dream of modern platform beds and no clutter.  I’d also have a master bath with a whirlpool tub that no one else could use(this means you, my darling children).

What would your perfect room be?  How would you design your get-away from the world if money were no object?  Write about it in your journal, clip out pictures and paste them in, or if you’d like sketch it out in your visual journal.  It never hurts to dream a little!
