The Creative Notebook

If you could design the room of your dreams, how would it look?  What would it’s function be?  Mine would be either an awesome art studio with tons of windows or an old fashioned library with built in shelves all the way to the ceiling, a fireplace, and one of those ladders you could ride all the way around the room.  My kids would either want a game room, or a home theater for their Wii and movies with awesome stereo surround sound and theater seating.  What would yours be?  Write about it.

Let me start right off with a springboard.  How is school different now than it was when you were a full time student?  If you are still a student, how are the requirements changing or is school what you expected?  If you are in college, how do you deal with the stress of school work?  Does tuition and student loans affect the classes you choose or the course of study you decided to follow?  Write about it.

It’s been quite a long time since I’ve updated here, and it’s been quite a ride.  Family illness, the loss of our home to a fire, and illness myself are among the contributing factors.  Hopefully, things will start to settle down and I can begin to post springboards and info and inspiration to spark your creativity and keep you writing again.  That’s the plan, anyway. 

And I’m still here, so it must be true.  I’m starting completely over…….again.  On December 23, 2007 I lost my home to a fire.

It gives you a whole new perspective on life and on “stuff”.  We spend most of our life working to aquire “stuff’”.  In the blink of an eye it can be gone.  I know.  So I guess this is something I can handle.  I’m  not Britney Spears, heading again to the hospital.  How many drug treatment centers is this for her now? 

I lost several journals.  I kept the charred ones that were still readable.  So much writing saved on my hard drive gone.  My computer was charred.  But I will start over.  I’ve already bought the new journal.
