What Have You Left In Vegas July 13th, 2008

You know the saying about Las Vegas.  “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”

Pretend your past is full of Las Vegas vacations.  What’s in your past that you’ve left in Vegas?  Have you made peace with those memories?  Pick up your journal and write about it.  Free yourself of you “Vegas” skeletons.  Tear out the pages and destroy them if you need to.

Research and Recovery July 13th, 2008

I’m sorry for my silence.  I promise to load you all up with lots of writing prompts, articles and great inspirational sites now that things have settled just a bit.  I’ve been busy helping my mom, who lost everything in the flood.  We’ve found her a new home, and she’s excited to have a home again and very grateful for FEMA.

It’s a blank slate.  Mom’s having so much fun trying to create her living space and is working to make it the authentic her.  We’ve been shopping for furniture, kitchen stuff, bathroom decore carpeting and flooring, and she’s decide on some Hinkley lighting.

I can’t think of a better gift after losing everything in such a devastating flood than the chance to create a sacred, authentic space to to home to.

Toot Your Own Horn Tuesday July 8th, 2008

    Toot Your Own Horn Tuesday
So often when we right in our journals, it’s about the problems in life. Things that don’t go our way, losses, frustrations, yearnings fill the pages of my book. So today I want to throw a little twist into your journaling. In the tradition of Thankful Thursday, number your paper from one to ten.

As quickly as you can, without thought, write down ten accomplishments you’ve made. Could be big things, like graduating college, saving someone’s life, getting the big promotion. It can be little things like finally decluttering your bathroom, or making your way all the way through the backlog of your inbox. Whatever it is, whatever you’ve accomplished, write it down. Big or small, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

Now, take a look at that list. You did great! Look at all you’ve done with your life, with your time. You ROCK!!!!!!

Leave a note in the comments directing us to your blog and link this post back, or leave your list in the comments as a whole if you don’t have a blog.

Just hit good ole Mister Linky! He’s waiting to be inspired by your accomplishments great or small

    YouTube Trailer July 1st, 2008

This is a youtube Trailer for a new book on journaling.

She does an awesome job of promoting journaling and even tells a story about her boyfriend reading her journal that is hilarious.  Definitely sold her book to me!
